ISCAHM – Busy week in the Buffet :D Week 18

Two weeks before, we ended the week with a breakfast buffet. This time however, things are much more different.

This week was our hot buffet week. It was pretty busy and hectic all throughout the week but we all managed to pull through.

Normally, kitchen week consists of cooking an appetizer and a main course. Buffet week is much more different. We cooked a lot of stuff! You’ll get the point just by seeing the menu above for one single day.

The recipes are actually easy but we still had to do a lot of work, like making samosas, pictured below. It was more on the operational side of the kitchen that was pretty hard during the week.

The food we made were like cocktail foods. It’s called “pica-pica” in layman’s terms here in Manila. These are things you eat with your hands, like meat in skewers.

Or they are food that have tooth picks attached to them.

What was interesting though was a day of Mexican food! We made plenty of Mexican dishes like chili con carne, chimichangga, flauta, guacamole, pica de gallo, and tacos amongst other things. Chef Gerd loved it!

What I liked about this buffet was the dessert. Tons of it!

I like it when we line up to get our food one piece at a time, choosing whether we like the food or not.

Most people actually liked the buffet since you got to eat little portions of everything.
