Inagiku – Best Quality Buffet

If Spiral offers the longest buffet line here in Manila, Inagiku, in my opinion, offers the highest quality of buffet here in Manila! 🙂

Inagkiku is located in Makati Shangri-la. It is the Japanese Restaurant of Makati Shang that offers great and super high quality Japanese cuisine. Its menu is actually ala carte but it turns itself into a buffet service very saturday and sunday lunch! 🙂

Inagiku’s buffet shows the fundamental of Japanese cuisine, it is all about the ingredients. They have little variety offer, however; the quality of ingredients is higher than any other buffet services here in Manila. Moreover, Inagiku also shows that proper execution and timing of service is crucial for Japanese cuisine.

Ok, am talking too much now, let’s check out the food! 😀

Being a Japanese Restaurant, it is inevitable that there will be a sushi/maki/sashimi station!

What I like about this station is that they offer a wide variety of style! Moreover, they offer expensive entries too! They have saba *mackerel* and uni *sea urchin*!

I was really happy that the quality of their uni is what I was at least expecting. It doesn’t taste fishy *malansa* and it gives you a hint of the ocean. I have tasted better uni in other restaurants but for a buffet, this quality is already great! *unlike the ones in Saisaki* The saba was a bit a disappointment though, I think they marinated it in the vinegar too much that the texture became too flaky already! But all in all, this station was really good! Marbling of salmon was great for a buffet and tuna, well, it’s tuna unless you are talking about toros 🙂

With the sashimi/sushi station down, off we go to their cold/appetizers station.

This station consist of salads and cold entries. They also have some sort of a salmon ceviche! I don’t get things here because so often than not, you get distracted by their teppanyaki station that you go straight there! YUM! 🙂

Their teppanyaki station is my favorite! This part is their beef and chicken and I LOVE the quality of their beef!

If you look closely at the meat, you will see that the marbling is superb! and I mean superb! For a top blade cut of meat, the color is pretty light! Am pretty sure it is a USDA prime grade top blade since I buy the choice grade and the difference between their visual marbling is pretty evident! YUMMMMMM!!! 🙂

Teppanyaki in action lolz! On the other side of the teppanyaki station is their fish and shrimp teppan! They normally offer cod and grouper here 😀

Quality is really good again both in ingredients and service. Cooking food as you order gives food a different dimension than when it was just cooked in advance and is just on a hot water bath! Oh, I almost forgot! They also have some hot entries on their teppanyaki station like gyozas, rice etc..

Just right beside the teppanyaki station is the sukiyaki station!

It is also cooked as you order! What I like about this station is that they offer fresh shitake mushrooms here 😀 Furthermore, the quality of their beef here is also superb! 😀

Good marbling eh? There is also a HUGE grilled tuna head at the sukiyaki station which I forgot to take picture at 😀

You must be asking right now, where is their tempura? Tempura is also cooked to order 😀 You actually ask their servers for some tempura and they will ask their station to cook it and then serve it to you when it is ready 😀

The picture above is their tempura station but you can just take a look at it 😀 a huge glass divides them away from the dining area lolz 😀

Lastly, there is the dessert station but I forgot to take a picture of it because I didn’t get any desserts there! But there is a secret in this dining place which is not present in the dessert station! you can ask for some of their Japanese flavored ice cream from their servers and I tell you this, it is really great!

It comes in 3 different flavors, the photo above is their red bean ice cream which is my favorite. The other two are macha and black sesame! The black sesame is also good, it has a smokey and nutty flavor that it gives! The macha tasted like tea with cream but it was also good, it was actually a good palette cleanser 😀

At the end of the day, I will always choose Inagiku over Spirals because of two things, quality and execution 😀 Don’t get me wrong though, Spiral is good, it’s just that Inagiku is better for me 😀 If you are looking for variety then go to Spiral, otherwise, go to Inagiku. They have good ingredients and you are sure that they serve food hot! 😀

i love this buffet! i think its the best in manila! their desserts selection is a little slim though. except for the ice cream and the coffee jelly, the others arent that great. but still, the selection of makis already makes up for this!

Back when this was in Edsa SHang, it super sucked. Youre right about the VERY limited variety.
Talagang one punta lang, you’ve gotten everything you wanted na. I’m glad Senju somehow replaced it because we’ve been there like a dozen times and I never thought it was worth it.

  8. Hi Hershey,
Inagiku also offers great choices from their ala carte menu. We tried both their U.S. Wagyu and Japanese Wagyu, the Japanese Wagyu was a true melt in your mouth experience! Aside from that their soft shell crab is worth trying!
